Holiday Inn Johannesburg-Rosebank, an IHG Hotel ★★★★

Great location, all staff extremely friendly , great selection at breakfast and the room was nice and big..

Firstly, as it was extremely hot, i found the aircon to be absolutely useless in cooling the room . Secondly, i couldn't believe that a hotel chain as big as the holiday inn had zero butter or margarine for breakfast and a toaster that didn't work.

Overal stay was good

Housekeeping

During power outages, when we visited during summer, the air conditioning unit ceased functioning, leading to a noticeable increase in stuffiness and heat within the room.

Well located,clean,a very good breakfast

Fantastic location, loved the food court and the easy accessibilty to entainment activities and the shopping mall.

It was rainy and we couldn't enjoy the pool during our stay. An indoor pool for residents would have elevated our trip from memorable to unforgetable! ! The Fun Company was packed with day visitors so a small play area in the hotel for residents children would have been great.

Location and comfort

The location is fantastic. The red bus office is right downstairs and the bus itself leaves right out the front. Train and other public transport are also immediately adjacent. Very comfortable. The staff were almost entirely extraordinarily wonderful. The manager is likely the most helpful, welcoming, kind, professional hands on manager I have ever come across in a large hotel. With so many guests to care for he still makes each one feel like he is there for them. Very rare in a big chain hotel, and greatly appreciated. The rest of the staff also were mostly amazing, from desk staff to restaurant staff, bar staff, cleaners, and everyone; all are excellent at making you feel welcome and at home. Again this is rare in a big hotel. There was just one staff member, at the desk, who was quite spectacularly, bewilderingly rude, I'd almost say aggressive. I gather I upset her somehow, I don't know how, but I gather there was some misunderstandingthat hot us off on the wrong foot , and subsequently every time I engaged with her her dislike of me was palpable which was a real pity. The rooms are very comfortable.

Only the bewildering experiences with one staff member described above. Otherwise everything was awesome.

We were there just as the city was beginning to shut down for Covid-19. All of the staff was very conscientious about using hand sanitizer and taking other precautions. That gave us great comfort. Also, the breakfast and the omelette lady were wonderful.

I had to be very careful in turning the shower head towards the wall after a shower otherwise it would spray water all over me and the floor.

Staff of the bar and restaurant is amazing and so is the food and drinks they are serving. Also location was perfect and connected to the mall. I would definitely stay again, nothing negative to say!

Beds were not perfect, could have been a bit better. But over all the sleeping quality of the room was really good.

They need to work on the housekeeping. It was inconsistent - some days I got towels, some days not. Toiletries not always replaced. Just not what you’d expect for this price.

A large selection of fresh foods to suit every taste set in a beautiful location and serviced by friendly and professional staff. Definitely a many many happy returns destination

My room was nice and the view was good, the convenience of going to the mall was excellent.

My Room (620) window rubber seal was not sealing properly. This needs to be replaced
